City Faces in Different Places

By Julie Perine on November 01, 2020 from City Faces

Today's Bridgeport City Face is Katlyn Logsdon. Meet her here:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? If not a lifelong resident, tell me what brought you here.

I started working in the area in March of 2020 when Champion Pharmacy and Wellness opened. I have enjoyed getting to interact with many of the residents of the Bridgeport community since then!

Are you married, have kids? Tell me about your family.
What about pets?

No, not marred. Just me and my 70 lb, 5-year-old standard poodle, Layla.

Where do you work and what do you do there?

I am the pharmacy manager at Champion Pharmacy and Wellness in Bridgeport. I have been with the company since 2012 when I started pharmacy school and began my journey in the pharmacy profession.
What are your hobbies/favorite past times?

My favorite hobbies include baking (cupcakes, cakes, and scones), going on walks and hikes with Layla, visiting my friend in Arlington,VA each fall for apple & pumpkin picking and going on winery tours.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?

Since I am new to the area, I have not found my favorite spot yet. However- I am looking for great spots to visit and explore. Any recommendations would be appreciated. You know where to find me!

What do you like about Bridgeport … why is this a good place to live?

I love the variety of local businesses and restaurants, not to mention all of the friendly people that I get to interact with on a daily basis!

One – or more – of your favorite memories of something that took place in Bridgeport ...

The best memory that I have of Bridgeport is going and watching the little league team that we sponsored this spring! It was great to get to see all of the children out playing, having fun on the field. I am thankful that I was able to attend many games after work this season.

What is your favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?

Seneca Rocks. It is so beautiful and such a relaxing place to enjoy the beauty of nature! Most of my family lives close to there so it was a tradition to hike the trail yearly.

How about your favorite place outside of WV?

That would be Deep Creek Lake. It is beautiful all times of the year. I love snow tubing in the winter, boating in the summer and enjoying the scenery in the fall.

What are some of your favorite things?

This time of year- my favorite day would consist of baking cookies and watching Hallmark movies by the fireplace.

Favorite season: Summer
Favorite holiday: Christmas
Favorite college sports team: WVU Mountaineers

Food/restaurant?
Oliverio’s. The Bridgeport location has a special place in my heart. My grandfather took me on a tour of his home place in Barrickville, WV and spent the day telling me stories from his childhood. It was a day I’ll never forget - and that day ended with dinner at Oliverio’s in Bridgeport.

Favorite color?

Navy blue and burgundy

Music genre/artist?

Variety of music, mainly country and pop-rock. Favorite artist: Matchbox Twenty

What is your best childhood memory?

In 8th grade, my grandparents took me to Italy. It was amazing to see the views, experience a different culture and spend quality time with my grandparents.

Interesting fact about you and/or something you would like to add…

I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Bridgeport community. I can’t wait to meet more of the residents and build a relationship that will last years to come!
