City Faces in Different Places

By Julie Perine on December 27, 2020 from City Faces

This week’s City Face is Jodi Alfred Piscura. Meet her and her family here:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport?
I am a lifelong Bridgeport resident.

Are you married? Tell me about your family …
I have been married to Jeff Piscura for 38 years. We have been together for 43 years. We have three kids: Daniel and twins Dillon and Aubree (husband Dalton). We have three grandkids: Reazon, Reign and Paisley.

What about pets?
We have a 7-year-old rescue cat named Dexter and a 2-year-old rescue dog, Keera.

Where do you work and what do you do there?
I have worked at our family business, Alfred Construction, Inc., for 42 years. I am the secretary.

What are your favorite pastimes/hobbies?
I love to spend time with my family, especially my grandkids. I love to watch the Pittsburgh Penguins and I love watching Netflix.

What is your favorite Bridgeport spot?
My home!

Why do you love Bridgeport? Why is this a great place to live?
I love Bridgeport!  I have been here all my life, so it feels very familiar and comfortable
to me!  I love that no matter how big our town is getting, you can still feel at home and you can go to the post office, the store or anywhere and there are always kind and happy people there.  I ALWAYS try and be kind to everyone!

What is your favorite Bridgeport memory?
The “giraffe" that sits at our office location is one of my greatest memories.  I was in
the 6th grade and we were all headed home on the school bus.  We looked over and in what was then "Sonny's" parking lot was a flatbed truck with this huge 16' giraffe on it.  All of us went crazy seeing this thing!  We were all asking each other so many questions.  Then it comes to my parents’ house and is placed in our yard.  The next morning, all the kids went crazy when they saw that this huge giraffe was in my yard. My dad bought it for my mom!  He said it was something no one else had!  LOL

What is your favorite place outside of Bridgeport?
Coopers Rock

What’s your favorite spot outside of WV?
That would be Las Vegas. My dad took me there several times. I have amazing memories.

What are your favorite things?
I LOVE God, my family, spaghetti & pizza, the Pittsburgh Penguins

What is your favorite restaurant/food?
Pizza at Twin Oaks

What is your favorite color?
Black. I like purple and pink too.

What is your favorite music?
Heavy Metal (AC/DC), Modern Country & my most favorite band of all time is "Journey"

What are your best childhood memories?
I remember doing a lot of camping. My dad worked very hard to make sure his family (six kids which my mom worked very hard to raise) had what we needed. He always made time for us to do things like camping and things. As we got older and had our own families, he started taking us to a different place every Thanksgiving and making a lot of memories with our whole family.

What else would you like to add?
I am not a very interesting person. I just live life and try to make the best of each day.
I love God with all of my being, and I know I would not be where I am or have any
of the blessing I have in my life if it were not for his love!  I am one very blessed woman!
