City Faces in Different Places

By Julie Perine on May 16, 2021 from City Faces

Today's Bridgeport City Face is a 2007 graduate of Bridgeport High School who after pursuing education out of state, returned to his hometown to work and raise a family. Meet Addison Michael here:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? If not a lifelong resident, tell me what brought you here.
I was born and raised in Bridgeport. I did leave for schooling for about 11 years but have been back for the last 4 years.

Tell me about your family.  My wife Jennifer and I met in Podiatric Medical school in Cleveland. Following residency we decided to move back to West Virginia to practice. We have two daughters Josephine who is 3 and Eliza, who is 6 months.

What about pets? 2 dogs, Rogue and Roxie and 1 cat Halley.

Where do you work and what do you do there?  I work at St Josephs Hospital in Buckhannon and I am a Podiatrist there, specializing in foot and ankle surgery.

What are your hobbies/favorite past times?  I enjoy working out at a local crossfit gym, building projects,  as well as anything outdoors.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?  Compton Park; it's close by to walk to and my older daughter loves playing on the playground.

What do you like about Bridgeport … why is this a good place to live?  I like the close community that Bridgeport is, you always feel at home and welcome whether you’ve lived her for 2 years or 20.  My wife moved here to start work a year before I did and it didn’t take her long to become a part of this great place we get to call home.

One – or more – of your favorite memories of something that took place in Bridgeport. I have several fond memories growing up around sports in Bridgeport both as a child watching and playing while in High school.  Friday nights at Wayne Jamison has an atmosphere you can’t beat.

What is your favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Tucker County on the Cheat River. We have a small fishing camp on the river and it has always been a place near and dear to my family.

How about your favorite place outside of WV?  Cleveland, OH. It is where my wife and I met and will always be a special place for us. We enjoy visiting for the excellent food scene and professional sports teams.

What are some of your favorite things?

Food/restaurant?  I enjoy anything BBQ. In Bridgeport, Cody’s has given us a place to go for awesome big city food in our small town.

Favorite color? Blue

Music genre/artist? I like all genres but particularly country music, I enjoy listening to Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs.

What is your best childhood memory?  For sure going to Bridgeport football games on Friday with my dad. He used to be the spotter for announcing the games and getting to go into the press box during the games always made for an awesome time.

Interesting fact about you and/or something you would like to add… I really enjoy cooking. Italian would have to be one of my favorite things to cook which I attribute to growing up in an area with such rich Italian history and delicious restaurants.
