City Welcomes Entries for Pumpkin Carving Contest

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on October 21, 2024

The Halloween décor outside the Benedum Civic Center might just include one of your own creations. And your seasonal craftmanship could earn you a prize.

Bridgeport Parks and Recreation is hosting a Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest, open to those of all ages.

“Bring your carved pumpkin - along with a completed entry form – to the Civic Center between Oct. 24 and Oct. 27,” said Parks and Recreation Coordinator Amy Callahan. “Voting will take place between 6-7 pm. On Oct. 27 by the participants of Trick or Treat with the Scarecrows.

Prizes will be awarded in various divisions. All jack-o-lanterns will be lit and displayed outside the Civic Center through Oct. 31.

There is no fee to enter, and it is hoped that many community members will participate.

Download an entry form HERE.

Questions can be directed to Callahan at acallahan@bridgeportwv.gov.
