By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on March 01, 2021

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting as of this morning (Monday, March 1) the total number of COVID-19 cases has increased from 131,855 to 132,048; an increase of 193.

Monday's report is showing that the total number of tests given is 2,181,987 and the percentage of positive cases vs. tests given is 5.46 percent. The daily percent positive is at 4.39 percent (daily tests/confirmatory test results).

According to the DHHR website, Harrison County's numbers are at 4,843 (3,433 confirmed cases, 1,410 probable cases), 381 active cases, and 70 deaths with 4,392 recoveries.

Please note that delays may be experienced with the reporting of information from the local health department to DHHR. As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the state border to be tested.

The total number of deaths related to the virus remains at 2,300. There were no deaths reported to DHHR over the last 24 hours.

The number of recoveries from the virus is at 122,751 with active cases at 6,997.
