Date Announced for Hoops Version of Backyard Brawl

The 192nd edition of the men’s basketball Backyard Brawl will take place at the WVU Coliseum on Thursday, Nov. 13.
 
The Mountaineers have won six of the last eight meetings in the series. The two teams have met 191 times in all-time series play that began in 1906 with WVU leading, 101-90.
 
The two schools are in the middle of a four-game series extension that was announced in January 2024. Last season, WVU and Pitt met in Pittsburgh and will do so again during the 2026-27 season. In addition to this year’s game in Morgantown, the two teams will meet at the Coliseum during the 2027-28 season.
