Date Announced for Hoops Version of Backyard Brawl

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on May 08, 2025

The 192nd edition of the men’s basketball Backyard Brawl will take place at the WVU Coliseum on Thursday, Nov. 13.

The Mountaineers have won six of the last eight meetings in the series. The two teams have met 191 times in all-time series play that began in 1906 with WVU leading, 101-90.

The two schools are in the middle of a four-game series extension that was announced in January 2024. Last season, WVU and Pitt met in Pittsburgh and will do so again during the 2026-27 season. In addition to this year’s game in Morgantown, the two teams will meet at the Coliseum during the 2027-28 season.

The best way to guarantee your seat at the Backyard Brawl is by purchasing season tickets. Renewal applications for 2024-25 season ticket holders are available now at WVUGAME.com.

New season tickets are also on sale at a more affordable price with the “get-in” season ticket price being lowered by 25% to welcome more Mountaineer fans. Select upper-level season tickets are now just $250 with no per seat contribution required. Secure your seats today at WVUGAME.com.
