Liberty Alum Haynes School's New Assistant Principal

Harrison County has another new principal. Recently, Jason Haynes was named as the new assistant principal and athletic director for Liberty High School.
Haynes officially begins his duties July 15. He fills the position left by former Bridgeport Middle School Principal David Mazza who left Liberty to assume an administrative position in Doddridge County.
The new principal is more than familiar with the school and its student body. Along with being a Class of 2000 graduate, he has been a teacher at Mountaineer Middle School for nearly a dozen years.
Haynes taught seventh and eighth grade students at the school. Also, for the past two and a half years he has served as the school’s athletic director, has also served as the assistant boys’ soccer coach at MMS, and was an assistant coach for the Liberty girls track team.
The new principal is taking over in the final year of Liberty. It will merge onto the campus of Robert C. Byrd High School during the 2025-26 school years.
“I will do my best to make that transition as smooth as possible for our Mountaineers,” Haynes said in a social media post.
