Local Retailers Hosting Holiday Open Houses Saturday
By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on November 06, 2026
The holiday shopping season is nearly upon us, and some local retailers are hosting special events tomorrow to help everyone prepare.
About You Monograms will host a Holiday Open House from 9 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7. Shoppers will receive discounts and be treated to giveaways and refreshments. In recent past years, About You opened a second venue to serve as its holiday hub, but this year all merchandise will be inside the store, said Melinda Tenda. Plenty of new merchandise, including holiday items, are on display and ready for purchase. Owned by Lisa Lang, About You Monograms is located at 110 West Main Street, Bridgeport. The store also offers custom monogramming.
Lang’s other business, Mahjong Social, will host a Holiday Open House 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 106 East Main Street, Bridgeport. Open since August, the business caters to players of all skill levels. Offerings include Mahjong 101, Guided Play, Open Play, and Private Play sessions. Visitors can also shop a curated selection of game sets, unique gifts, and apparel. Saturday’s open house will feature open play and refreshments, discounts, gift certificates, and themed gifts.
Located in White Oaks, Artworks is also launching the holiday shopping season on Nov. 7. Owner Lotus MacDowell has stocked some new gift, household, and artistic items, some inspired by her trip to Atlanta Market. Select items throughout the store will be discounted 50 percent. Artworks’ event takes place 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The store is located at 20 Shaner Drive, Suite 106, Bridgeport.
