Meadowbrook Mall Welcomes Back National Retailer

By Jeff Toquinto on August 25, 2025

A national retailer has returned to Meadowbrook Mall and it is a sure sign that summer is on its way out.

Recently, Spirit Halloween made its return to the City of Bridgeport retail hub. The business is operating on standard mall business hours this week.

“We are pretty happy to have Spirit Halloween back at the mall,” said Marketing Director Noah Levy. “We love the seasonal stores because they help provide excitement for the upcoming holidays. When you go in there you get a sneak peek of what you’re doing to see in October, and it prepares you for the holidays coming in November and December.”

Spirit Halloween has been a regular at Meadowbrook Mall for a number of years, but it has not maintained the same location. It is, however, back in the same spot it occupied last year.

It is located between the entrance of the Food Court and the entrance to Marshalls. Individuals can access the store on the outside of the mall between those two areas.

For those who are familiar with last year’s set up, they know it is a big display of merchandise. Spirit Halloween occupies roughly 18,000 square feet in an area that was part of the former Elder Beerman store.

“The square footage allows them to display their animatronics and home decorations along with costumes and other decorations and items that will get you into the Halloween spirit,” Levy said.

Opening up earlier this month, Levy said the business has been reported to be solid.

“They’ve been received very well. After their first weekend, (representatives from the store) said they had a really great turnout here,” said Levy. “We’ve been getting a lot of hype for their return.”

Spirit Halloween is the largest Halloween retailer in North America. The company has more than 1,500 seasonal locations.
