MetroNews: SSAC to Move Super Six from Wheeling

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on November 27, 2020

According to MetroNews, for the first time in 27 years, the WVSSAC high school football championship games will not be hosted by Wheeling Island Stadium. Due to Ohio County remaining in the orange category on the state COVID metrics map, the Super Six games have been moved to University of Charleston Stadium.

With Ohio County remaining in the ‘high risk’ category on the map for almost three weeks, WVSSAC officials sought alternate sites to host the championship games.

The championship game schedules will remain the same. The Class AA final will be Friday, December 4 at 7 p.m. The AAA final will be played Saturday, December 5 at noon and the Class A final will conclude the event at 7 p.m.
