New Clarksburg Restaurant Gets Off to Strong Start

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on August 01, 2024

Editor's Note: For those visiting Bridgeport who have already sampled the city's fare or those who are residents of the city and beyond looking for a trip for a new culinary experience, here's a recent edition of WBOY's Restaurant Road Trip. This restaurant opened in the last few months and you don't have to go far since it is located minutes away from Bridgeport just off Route 50 West of the city. They business is located at 1704 West Pike Street in Adamston, next to Toni's. The phone number is 304-626-3636.

FROM WBOY

Ever since they opened up Clarksburg Pizza Co. about a month and a half ago, Adam Barberio said he and his co-owners have been “overwhelmed with support from the community.”

More than a year ago, Barberio and his co-owners Aaron Barberio and Paul Howe, acquired Toni’s Ice Cream located next door, and felt inspired to open a pizza restaurant so that people can get a meal to accompany their sweet treats.

“When we were developing our menu, we wanted to make sure that we had items on there—whether names or the items themselves—that kind of signified our local area,” Barberio told 12 News. “Items like fried hot peppers, steak hoagies, that’s something that everybody is familiar with in our area,” he added.

A few things on the menu are named after notable landmarks in Clarksburg such as the Pike Street Special, The L.H.S. (Lettuce, Ham and Swiss) named after Liberty High School, as well as “The Hilltopper,” which is a nod to the former Washington Irving High School.

“If you look at our menu, we have several specialty pizzas,” said Barberio. “The crowd favorites are always the build-your-own pepperoni and cheese pizza. But we wanted to have a variety that people could choose from, as well as a build-your-own.”

Barberio said that he doesn’t feel Clarksburg Pizza Co. is necessarily set apart from other pizza shops in the area, but that he and his staff are incredibly happy to be part of an area that’s known for good pizza and good food in general. “There’s a lot of great pizza shops here, there’s a lot of great restaurants here and we’re blessed to be in an area that has such great food.”
