No Firearm Found in Liberty Middle School Situation

FROM THE HARRISON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
Today, March 11, 2026, a 14-year-old student whispered to another student that he had a firearm and ran down the hall at Liberty Middle School. The other student then reported the incident to staff and the school was briefly placed on precautionary lock down. Immediately the student was isolated and searched and no weapon was located.
The school Prevention Resource Officer is handling the investigation and the report will be referred to the Harrison County Prosecutor's Office for criminal charges. No additional information will be released as the offender is a juvenile.
