Nutter Fort Names Robert Titchenal New Police Chief
By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on April 07, 2026
For the first time in years, the Town of Nutter Fort will have a new police chief. On Wednesday, it was announced that Robert A. Titchenal will serve as chief of the force following a competitive selection process.
Titchenal will replace former Chief Ronnie Godwin, who retired. Godwin had been with the department since 1985 and served a good portion of his time as that department’s chief.
According to a post on the Town of Nutter Fort’s Facebook page, “Chief Titchenal brings strong leadership, experience, and a commitment to public service. We believe he will do an outstanding job leading the department and continuing to serve the residents of Nutter Fort with professionalism and dedication.”
Titchenal will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Nutter Fort Police Department. He will also work with the town’s elected officials to maintain public safety and strengthen relationships within the community.
An exact date for Titchenal to begin has not been listed, but it will be “in the coming weeks.”
Also, a formal swearing-in ceremony will be held in the future as well.
