Off the Shelf: Great New DVDs Available at the Library

Grab your popcorn because the library has some great new DVDs available! With your Bridgeport Public Library card, you can check out up to 10 DVDs at a time at no cost to you. We are always adding to our collection and are happy to consider purchase requests should we not have the DVD you are looking for. We have over 4,700 DVDs (including both movies and television series) for our patrons to enjoy. Check out our most recent additions below. 
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: “After failing to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta wields the power of the mythic Black Trident to unleash an ancient and malevolent force. Hoping to end his reign of terror, Aquaman forges an unlikely alliance with his brother, Orm, the former king of Atlantis. Setting aside their differences, they join forces to protect their kingdom and save the world from irreversible destruction.”
The Color Purple (2023): “Torn apart from her sister and her children, Celie faces many hardships in life, including an abusive husband. With support from a sultry singer named Shug Avery, as well as her stand-her-ground stepdaughter, Celie ultimately finds extraordinary strength in the unbreakable bonds of a new kind of sisterhood.”
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes: “Years before he becomes the tyrannical president of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow remains the last hope for his fading lineage. With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, the young Snow becomes alarmed when he's assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird from District 12. The library also shows two movies per month with refreshments provided. One is a daytime matinee for adults and the other is a family movie night appropriate for all ages. Our current showings can be found on our website at bplwv.org/events.
