It’s almost time for my favorite event of the year! On Saturday, October 26 from 3pm-6pm, the Bridgeport Public Library will be hosting our 4th annual Community Trunk-or-Treat in our rear parking lot. All ages are welcome at this event, and it promises to be the biggest and best year yet! We have expanded the number of participating trunks and will be offering some new activities for all to enjoy.
We are very excited and appreciative of the lineup of community partners hosting a trunk this year including: Friends of the Bridgeport Public Library, Daughters of the American Revolution Daniel Davisson Chapter, Mountaineer Therapy Dogs, Bridgeport Public Library Handicraft Group Hooks & Needles, Sacred Heart Children’s Center, Bridgeport Target, Bridgeport Home Depot, Serene Pest Control, City of Bridgeport Emergency Services, Bridgeport Volunteers in Policing, City of Bridgeport Parks and Recreation, The Gryphon’s Nest, Freedom Bank, Stifel Investment Banking, and General Nutrition Company (GNC.)
We will also have other special organizations here including Paint Misbehavin’ for face painting, Party in a Flash Rentals with soft play equipment, and Taqueria Lou Lou food truck with their delicious food. The library will also provide activity sheets, coloring sheets, and a variety of games such as corn hole and candy corn bowling. There will also be no shortage of candy and other fun treats.
This is always such a special event, and it is my favorite each year because it brings our community together in a really fun and exciting way. I enjoy seeing everyone who participates as a partner bring enthusiasm and a desire to spread joy in their community. I think the Trunk-or-Treat gets better and better each year and I feel fortunate to have a small hand in organizing it. We cannot wait to see everyone in costume!
In the event of inclement weather, the Trunk-or-Treat will be held inside the library.
