As the days are getting shorter and we’re getting closer to Christmas Break, your student might be feeling the crunch at school. Luckily, the Bridgeport Public Library has a program just for them!
Study Hall is a new program created specifically to help students with their schoolwork.
We offer a quiet place to work every Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
There are also snacks and drinks to keep your student refreshed and ready to learn!
Study Hall came from the minds of Rebecca O’Connor and Alexis Miller, two of our staff members who have backgrounds in education!
Rebecca is our youth services librarian who’s also worked for years as a writing coach and tutor.
If your student needs help with an essay or understanding a piece of text, she’s the one to visit.
Alexis is a former elementary school teacher and now works with us as Rebecca’s assistant.
Her areas of expertise are early literacy and mathematics, and she’d be happy to work with students one-on-one or in a group.
Study Hall is a great way to help your student as the school year goes on.
One-on-one lessons address specific issues without the pressure of keeping up with other kids.
This approach can help improve a student's outlook on school and learning in general.
It’s a place where they can ask any questions they might have, but feel awkward asking in the classroom.
They might even learn a new way of approaching problems that helps them in the future!
Just like every other program at the library, Study Hall is free to attend.
Drop by any time during the program, and see how we can help your students succeed at the library!
