Oscar Tshiebwe Announces He Will Play at Kentucky

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 10, 2021

Former West Virginia University big man and five-star recruit Oscar Tshiebwe didn't wait long to announce his new home. On Tshiebwe's Twitter account, he announced he will be playing for the University of Kentucky and Coach John Calipari.

The post read as follows:

"I am grateful for the time I spent at West Virginia, and the lessons that I learned. I’ve spent a lot of time praying to God to help me make the best decision for my future. I am excited for this new chapter of my life. I will continue my career at the University of Kentucky."

WVU recently released a statement saying their former sophomore big man was "stepping away" from the program. Coach Bob Huggins said at the time that Tshiebwe would not be returning.
