Spirit Halloween is Open at Emily Drive, Clarksburg

By Julie Perine on September 09, 2023

Entering Spirit Halloween, one has access to the biggest variety of costumes, decorations and animatronics. But beyond that, it’s an experience. Displays double as a spooky feature, and as is annually proven – it’s a popular one.

Spirit Halloween opened its doors last month at 204 Emily Drive, Clarksburg, in the space formerly occupied by Hometown Marketplace. The plaza is also home of Michael’s, Jack’s Friendly Furniture, and Tractor Supply.

In recent years, the seasonal store has been located at Meadowbrook Mall.

“We are very sad to say that we did not get the opportunity, with all the construction going on, to host Spirit Halloween this year,” said Ashton Cunningham, Meadowbrook Mall marketing director.

Space this year is smaller than in previous years, so there are less animatronics, an employee said. But the shelves are still stocked with just about anything imaginable.

With over 1,500 stores across the U.S., Spirit Halloween is the largest Halloween retailer in North America. The store will be open through Halloween during the following hours: Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. through 8 p.m.; Friday 11 a.m. through 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. through 6 p.m.

Halloween costumes for infant, children, men, and women are available with popular themes ranging from Hocus Pocus and Disney Princesses to Bettlejuice, SpongeBob and Chucky.

Brand new licensed merchandise for 2023 includes Barbie, Fall Guys, Harry Potter, Universal Monsters, DC Villains, Poppy Playtime, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Wednesday, and Mars Attacks.

There is no shortage of Halloween decorations.

“There’s something about creating the perfect haunted house that makes your neighbors top by and stare in awe, and the right Halloween decorations can transform your home and yard into the spotlight of the neighborhood,” said a Spirit Halloween spokesperson. “If you’re looking to make your home absolutely haunting this Halloween, Spirit is here to offer plenty of scary Halloween decoration ideas for 2023.”
Halloween animatronics, outdoor and yard decorations, fog machines, Halloween lights, wall décor, collectibles and glassware are among the items available.

In addition to costumes mentioned above, popular choices include Ghostbusters, Trick ‘r Treat, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, The Nightmare Before Christmas, the Haunted Mansion, Scooby Doo, A League of their Own and Monster High.
