Tygart Adventure Lake Opens for Family Fun Saturday

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on June 12, 2026

Summer fun is making a splash at Tygart Adventure Lake at Tygart Lake State Park, where visitors of all ages can enjoy one of West Virginia’s premier family-friendly water attractions. Known for its floating inflatable playground, Tygart Adventure Lake offers a variety of exciting features, including giant slides, trampolines, climbing structures, and interactive water obstacles.

Whether climbing, bouncing, sliding, or splashing, guests can enjoy hours of action-packed fun on the water. Certified lifeguards are on duty to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Visitors can also relax on the sandy beach, where more than 150 lounge chairs provide the perfect place to soak up the sun and take in the scenic surroundings. Paddleboard and kayak rentals are available by the hour or by the day for those looking to explore the lake from a different perspective.

In addition to daily recreation, Tygart Adventure Lake is available for private events and celebrations. The facility offers affordable options for birthday parties, family reunions, company gatherings, and other special occasions. Guests can even reserve exclusive use of the beach and adventure lake during designated evening hours, creating a memorable setting for summer fun with family, friends, or coworkers.

Located just four miles south of Grafton, Tygart Lake State Park offers a wide range of outdoor recreation opportunities, including boating, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and scuba diving. Surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, the park also features lakeside lodging, making it an ideal destination for both day trips and extended stays.

Tygart Adventure Lake opens daily at 10 a.m. Admission is $19 for a half-day pass and $25 for a full-day pass. Non-swimming beach passes are available for $13. Capacity limits are in place, and walk-up admissions may be limited during peak periods.

“We are excited to welcome guests back to Tygart Adventure Lake for the 2026 season and look forward to providing families with a summer full of fun, adventure, and lasting memories,” said Eric Martin of Wilderness Voyageurs, the new operators of Tygart Adventure Lake. Wilderness Voyageurs is a Bound for Adventures company – a leading provider of outdoor experiences across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions.

Reservations are strongly encouraged and are now being accepted for the 2026 season. Guests can reserve passes online at wvstateparks.com/tygart-adventure-lake or by calling 1-833-WV-PARKS (1-833-987-2757). For information about private events and group rentals, contact Eva Robinson at 304-641-4702.
