The Benedum Airport Authority, the governing body of the North Central West Virginia Airport, recognized an individual at their recent meeting who is not on their board, but members say is equally important. The staff of the airport was involved with the recognition as well.
At the start of the Tuesday, April 16 meeting, Authority President and Harrison County Commissioner David Hinkle, briefly interrupted the session for an informal item not on the agenda. Hinkle asked Carol Goad to come forward.
After that, NCWV Director Rick Rock presented Goad with a plaque and a certificate of appreciation. Goad was celebrating 15 years in her role as the airport office manager.
Both Hinkle and Rock sang her praises to those gathered. Hinkle said she is the person responsible for keeping “everyone in line” when it comes to the meetings. Rock said she started at the airport months before he began his current position of director and read to those gathered what was listed on the certificate.
