Pharmacy Technician

Champion Pharmacy, a new independent pharmacy in downtown Bridgeport, WV, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to be part of our team.  This is a full-time position and may require some weekend and evening work.  The pharmacy is closed on major holidays and offers paid time off.  If interested, resumes and questions can be sent to championpharmacy@yahoo.com. 
The pharmacy technician will assist with activities in the pharmacy including preparation of prescriptions and maintaining day-to-day operations in a manner consistent with company policies and state and federal laws. Additional actives for this position may include processing of refill requests, performingdata entry, ordering medications, assist in maintaining pharmacy records, assist patients in locating over-the-counter medications, checking out customers, performing routine housekeeping of the pharmacy and other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Create an environment that enable customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • Operate point of sale and computers systems
  • Prepare prescription medications to be checked by the pharmacist
  • Assist patients who are dropping off or picking up prescriptions orders with prompt and friendly service
  • Screen telephone calls for the pharmacists
  • Verify customers receive the correct prescription(s) and make "offer of pharmacist counseling"
  • Communicate medication information to prescribers and their agents for refill requests
  • Restock inventory while ensuring proper rotation
  • Monitor inventory for overstock or expired medications
  • Participate in mandatory training programs
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
 
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • WV Board of Pharmacy licensed technician
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional and courteous demeanor
  • Ability to respect confidentiality of patient data
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects
 
Desired Experience:
  • 1 year of customer service related experience
  • 1 year of healthcare related experience
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified
