Accounting Clerk, Finance Dept.

The City of Bridgeport is accepting applications for a full-time Accounting Clerk position in the Finance Department. Qualified applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in business or a related field preferred with 3-5 years of experience in invoicing and accounting. Experience in payroll processing would also be beneficial.  Job responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, processing invoices, balancing accounts, ordering materials and supplies for the Finance Department, backing up the Assistant Finance Director with various accounting duties and assisting in the payroll process. The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes 100% paid Health Insurance (PEIA) for the employee with a very modest premium for family coverage, 100% paid Disability policy, member of WV Retirement System, paid holidays and vacations.   Salary will be based on experience and/or education.
