Job Summary:
The City of Bridgeport is accepting applications for a full-time Staff Accountant position in the Finance Department. Job responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, processing invoices, balancing accounts, ordering materials and supplies for the Finance Department, backing up the Assistant Finance Director with various accounting duties, and assisting in the payroll process. Additional duties as assigned by the Finance Director.
Qualified applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in business or a related field preferred with 3-5 years of experience in invoicing and accounting. Experience in payroll processing would also be beneficial.
