Job Summary:
The City of Bridgeport is accepting applications for a full-time Building Maintenance & Operations Manager for the new Bridge Sports Complex. This position will be responsible for the management of all operations at The Bridge Sports Complex. Duties include but are not limited to maintenance, housekeeping, retail, adventure area, executing events and food & beverage operationsat The Bridge Sports Complex; our new, state of the art sports facility expected to open Spring of 2021. This position is responsible for event development in-house and co-partnerships,working with construction and vendor groups to understand the operations of the facility, hiring and training the facility team, serving as the primary contact for all events after they have been contracted, assisting with sponsorship sales as needed, serving as Manager-on-Duty ("MOD") during events, participating in the acquisition & training of staff, developing/integrating facility management software, developing the operational schedule, and other duties as assigned. This individual will also work closely with other departments to manage staff scheduling and training.
 
The /ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management or related field, 3-5 years appropriate experience strongly preferred. Must have general building maintenance experience, as well as prior responsibility in daily profit and loss management and budget oversight. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiating skills, strong computer skills- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., be well organized and able to manage multiple projects on a routine basis, and be comfortable in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
