Athletic Skills Development Off Season Football Program

A unique opportunity for young athletes in our area! Participants will go through an 8-week program with the goal of increasing athletic and football skill development. This program will also aim at increasing the overall attitude and confidence of its participants. Our goal is that all participants will gain an understanding and develop skills appropriate for their age group as it relates to general athletic fundamentals as well as football concepts and position specific techniques.

There will be two different classes offered. Please see descriptions below: General Athletic Fundamentals: Balance, bending, running, stopping, weight distribution and transfer, body awareness, spatial awareness, developing the eyes, and much more. Football Concepts and Specific Skills: Throwing, catching, blocking, tackling. Skill development specific to offensive and defensive positions. General football concepts will also be developed. This program will be directed by Mike Lopez, who is a veteran college football coach and licensed educator with over 20 years of coaching and teaching experience. Along with athletic and football skills development, this program will also focus on the development of proven life principles and core values necessary to gain self – confidence. Who and When: Monday, 5-6:00 pm Basic Athletic and Football Instruction for Elementary School Students. Grades 3-5 Monday, 6-7:00 pm Basic Athletic and Football Instruction for Middle School Students Wednesday, 5-6:00 pm Football Skills Development for High School Defensive and Offensive Lineman Wednesday, 6-7:00 pm Football Skills Development for High School Skill Position Athletes Cost: $160 Use this link to register: https://cityparksofclarksburg.wufoo.com/forms/k1cpq0en123myzw/ *Registration is limited
