Bridgeport Lions Club Second Annual Golf Ball Drop

Are you curious about what the Bridgeport Lions Club and golf balls have in common?  In order to support projects and community-based organizations, the Bridgeport Lions Club is giving you the opportunity to win a first-place prize of $1,000 or a second, third, or fourth place prize of rounds of golf at Canaan Valley Resort, Stonewall Jackson Resort, or Snowshoe Resort.  To purchase what could be “your lucky number” on one of our golf balls at a cost of $10 for one number or three numbers at a cost of $25, contact Lion Charlene Smyth by calling 304-841-1111.

If you wish to be present to see what lucky numbers will win, join the Bridgeport Lions Club and other members of our community on Saturday, August 17, at 1:00 p.m. at the Citynet Center, also known as the Bridge Sports Complex.  We will gather at the multipurpose grass field across from Baseball Field 5.  You do not have to be present to win.

We are so pleased to let you know that Bridgeport City Mayor Andy Lang will be present to officially announce what numbers have won.  The Bridgeport Fire Department has so graciously agreed to bring one of the ladder trucks to lift the tarpaulin filled with golf balls and then release all of the balls.  We will watch to see what balls will land in the golf ball hole or what balls come the nearest to the hole to determine the winners.  Mayor Lang will be provided with a tape measure, if any measuring is needed, to make a final determination.

It is the pleasure of the Bridgeport Lions Club to serve our community by volunteering our time to raise the necessary funds that are vital for supporting programs in our community as well as purchasing actual items when needed.
