Emergency Pet Safety Net Launched in Harrison County for Domestic Violence Victims and Families in Crisis facing
CLARKSBURG, WV — A local community campaign has officially launched to maintain a vital emergency safety net for the pets of domestic violence victims, displaced disaster survivors, and local families in crisis across Harrison County and surrounding areas.
Operated out of 661 W Pike St in Clarksburg, the initiative provides emergency grooming, short-term crisis boarding, and immediate physical care for pets caught in severe life emergencies—including domestic violence situations, house fires, and sudden homelessness, and temporary housing displacement.
For months, these critical emergency cases have been handled quietly out of pocket at 661 W Pike St. Emergency grooming, short-term crisis boarding, and immediate physical care have been provided to ensure no pet is left in harm's way or suffering in silence.
Because temporary shelters, hotels, and emergency housing rarely accommodate pets, families facing sudden homelessness or escaping violence often face the heart-wrenching choice between their own safety and abandoning their animals.
To protect the safety and privacy of victims and families in crisis, direct photos and names of animals are kept confidential. A 100% fee-free fundraising campaign has been established via Zeffy to cover ongoing emergency grooming, crate supplies, and temporary boarding costs.
