Body Found in Area Waterway; Investigation Ongoing

FROM THE MONONGALIA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, at approximately 11:06 a.m., deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the Granville area following reports of a body spotted in the Monongahela River.
Upon arriving at the scene, emergency personnel located and recovered the body from the water, 200-300 yards north of the Granville boat ramp.
The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation and was assisted on-scene by the Granville Police Department, the West Virginia State Police, Monongalia County EMS, and the Granville Fire Department.
