The Bridgeport High School golf team captured the 2025 Big 10 Conference Golf Championship today in dominant fashion at the Bel Meadow Golf Club.
The Indians finished with a team total of 328. That was good enough to top second place Grafton and Fairmont Senior by 18 strokes. Both the Bearcats and the Polar Bears both finished with a combined team score of 346. Lewis County came in fourth at 348.
Low medalist honors went to Alexander Randolph with a 73. Audrey Kerr, who finished fifth overall, finished with an 81. Randolph and Kerr were named the male and female golfers of the year and earned first-team All-Big 10 Conference status as well.
Coach Chris Kerr was named the Big 10 Conference Coach of the Year.
Bridgeport had several others contributing to the win at Bel Meadow. Patrick Aucremanne, Garrett Steele, Preston Curry, and Guy Avolio all competed today for the Tribe.
“I am very proud of our team and happy for them that they were able to win the Big 10 Championship. This team has worked hard all season and hopefully we can take this momentum into the regional,” Kerr said.
The Class AAA Region II event is on Monday at the Bridgeport Country Club. Along with Bridgeport, the teams in the region include Lewis County, Elkins, Robert C. Byrd, Hampshire, and Keyser.
The 18-hole event begins at 9 a.m.
