Local Accident with Motorcycle Requires Medical Flight

Multiple emergency service agencies responded on Labor Day to an afternoon accident in Marion County that involved a motorcycle.
The accident took place just prior to 2:30 p.m. The area of the accident was near the Fairmont Field Club on Locust Avenue.
Multiple media reports state that HealthNet was called to the scene and the one individual was flown for treatment. There was no confirmation if it was an individual on the motorcycle, or in the vehicle, which was a sedan.
The individual was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
The Monongah Volunteer Fire Department, Valley Volunteer Fire Department and the Marion County Rescue Squad were on the scene. The West Virginia State Police handled the law enforcement aspect of the incident and will be handling the investigation.
