The Grapevine: Celebrate Our Nation's 250th Birthday

Happy 250th Birthday to the United States! On the Fourth of July we will all gather to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States. On that day, 250 years ago, a Declaration of Independence was signed declaring that the 13 United States was independent from England.
 
This document begins with the phrase, “When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another country.”
 
And it ends with “And for the support of this Declaration with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”
 
After our forefathers placed their signatures on the document, it became legal.
 
Thus began the first day of independence of the United States. Since that day we have celebrated the birthday of our country.
 
Especially during this special celebration there are many things going on. I urge you to participate in recognizing our nation’s birthday. Remember, we are the best country in the world.
 
Blow out the candles, eat a piece of cake, and celebrate our freedom.
 
Enjoy the summer, stay cool, and until next week, "Now You Have Heard It Through The Grapevine."
