WVDHHR Recognizes its Inspector General and City Native Jolynn Marra, who Recently Passed Away

Jolynn Marra, DHHR’s late Inspector General, is featured as October’s Employee Spotlight. The Employee Spotlight is an initiative which highlights DHHR employees and shows how their work fulfills the overall mission of DHHR.
 
After a prolonged illness, Jolynn passed away peacefully on October 10, 2022, surrounded by her family and friends. Jolynn was an exemplary leader whose work went above and beyond expectations.
 
Jolynn’s 30-year distinguished career at DHHR began in 1992 where she served in various managerial roles before becoming the Director of the Investigations and Fraud Management Unit. In 2011, she became Director of the Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification (OHFLAC) division, and in January 2022, she was appointed Inspector General; a job that Jolynn was so very proud to accept.
 
“Jolynn was a true public servant who was always happy to assist me and many others, no matter the time of day,” said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. “Her wealth of knowledge and customer service attitude were second to none. We will truly miss her at DHHR.”
 
Tina Maher Wiseman shared her thoughts about Jolynn and how she mentored her as the new director of OHFLAC. Tina remarked, "The office will never be the same without Jolynn's big smile, kind heart, and dedication. She will be greatly missed."
