City Faces in Different Places

By Julie Perine on September 01, 2019 from City Faces

This week's City Face is a devoted sports fan. She loves the city and its parks and playgrounds, which she loves to visit with her grandbabies. Meet Felicia Bryant.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? If not a lifelong resident, tell me what brought you here.
My family moved to Bridgeport when I was 5, went to Bridgeport schools and graduated from Bridgeort High School. I moved to Braxton and Lewis counties from 1985 to 1993 when my husband was a state trooper and have lived here ever since.

Are you married, have kids? Tell me about your family.  I’ve been married for 34 years. I have five daughters: Lindsay Bryant, Logan Bowers, London LeFevre, Lakin Bryant and Lacy Bryant, all BHS graduates. I have two grandsons, Cory and Jackson and a three-week old granddaughter, Alana.

What about pets? I have four small dogs: Buddy, Sophie, George and Jasmine, and a cat Ellie.

Where do you work and what do you do there? I work at Physicians First Care in Nutter Fort. I’m a Med Tech, but also an office manager.

What are your hobbies/favorite past times? I work out every morning at WV Fitness and walk a lot. I like to read and shop with the girls. I love watching Lacy play soccer at Fairmont state University and will also be watching Cory play football and Jackson play soccer this fall.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?  My favorite places in Bridgeport are the city parks, Rec Complex and Hinkle and Deegan Lakes. There are great playgrounds and great places to walk. we also like to Eno there.

Why do you like about Bridgeport … why is this a good place to live? Bridgeport has grown so much since I grew up here, but it still has the same smalltown feel. The schools and teachers are great and there is so much parental support for the kids. Friday night football games bring everyone out and Light Up Night is my absolute favorite!  The city parks are always packed with families.

What is your favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? My favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport would have to be Fairmont State University. I spend a lot of time there watching Lacy play soccer and going out to eat with her and her friends. Clarksburg Amp is a favorite place in the summer for concerts. It’s the best venue around!

How about your favorite place outside of WV? North Myrtle Beach is my favorite place outside of WV. There’s just something about the beach that takes away all my stress and worries and brings me such peace.

What are some of your favorite things? Food/restaurant? Favorite color? Music genre/artist?

My favorite food is buttercream icing! My Little Cupcake chocolate chip cookies and brownies and Bonnie Belles’ peanut butter sandwich cookies. I listen to country music and my favorite color is purplel

What is your best childhood memory? I grew up on Philadelphia Avenue and walked or rode my bike everywhere – usually to my best friend Janet Hadorn Hathaway’s house. Every summer, they had a “carnival” to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. We always had so much fun!
Interesting fact about you and/or something you would like to add… My senior year, I was co-editor of the high school yearbook and that year we won the AAA state football championship.
