A wedding in Fayetteville recently featured a deeply moving performance by long-time Harrison County resident Chris Vance who composed and sang a special song for his daughter, now Kirsten Jenkins, on her wedding day. The heartfelt performance left guests in tears and created a memorable highlight of the celebration.

The song, titled “My Little Girl”, was a personal and emotional gift from father to daughter, showcasing the deep bond between them. The wedding, held on Saturday, May 4 at the Gainesville Estate, was an event filled with love, laughter, and this unforgettable musical moment.

Vanceis a well-known figure in the community, having served as the coach of Liberty High School Volleyball for five years, during which he was named Harrison County Coach of the Year twice. He is currently the assistant coach of the Robert C. Byrd High School volleyball team, and coaches a travel team at Mountain State Storm Volleyball Club, located in Bridgeport.

In addition to his coaching career, he has been playing the keyboard and leading worship at Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Fairmont for over 15 years. Outside of his professional and community contributions, he enjoys spending time with his family and boating at Burnsville Lake. Chris spent months writing and perfecting the song, ensuring it would be a meaningful addition to his daughter's special day.

“It’s truly the most precious gift I’ve ever received and a moment I’ll never forget,” said Kirsten, the bride. “I had no idea he had written the song until he got up and sang it. It made the day even more special and is something I will always cherish.”

A video of the performance has been shared with family and friends, spreading the joy and emotion of the day. The family is excited to share this special moment with the wider community.
