Broadway Musical "ON YOUR FEET!" Coming to Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in April

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 19, 2023

The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County and the Barbara B. Highland Fund for the Arts, in partnership with The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center, are bringing the national tour of the Broadway musical ON YOUR FEET! to downtown Clarksburg on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the historic Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center, located at 444 W. Pike St. in Clarksburg.

ON YOUR FEET! is the inspiring true story about heart, heritage and two people who believed in their talent – and each other – to become an international sensation: Gloria and Emilio Estefan.

Now their story has arrived on stage in an exhilarating original production that’s already won the hearts of critics and audiences alike, with the Chicago Tribune declaring, “IT’S A HIT!” and The New York Times cheering, “The very air in the room seems to vibrate in this undeniably crowd-pleasing musical!” “If you aren’t humming a Gloria Estefan hit when you leave the theater, it might be time to check your pulse!” raves the Associated Press.

“The Cultural Foundation is thrilled to have this unique opportunity to bring a nationally touring Broadway musical to Harrison County,” said Andy Walker, president of The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County. “We began the tradition of Broadway in Clarksburg years ago with Once, and we are proud to have been able to keep it going with STOMP, and now with ON YOUR FEET!”

The jukebox musical played on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre. Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots), with choreography by Olivier Award winner Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys) and a book by Academy Award winner Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman), ON YOUR FEET! features some of the most iconic songs of the past quarter-century, including “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “Conga,” Get On Your Feet,” “Don’t Want To Lose You Now,” “1-2-3,” and “Coming Out of the Dark.” Prepare to be on your feet from start to finish.

“We don’t normally have major shows like this on a Monday,” said Jason A Young, the Robinson Grand’s program manager. “However, this musical is so new, and so popular that we had to take it when we could get it; and we are super lucky to have it.”

The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County, established in 1972, strives to foster an arts-rich environment and to encourage the development and appreciation of all art forms, while also promoting the growth of artistic, cultural, and economic development.

The Barbara B. Highland Fund for the Arts provides funds to The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County for the engagement of fine arts presentations of a national scope in Harrison County, WV. The generous provision of this endowment, by longtime resident and patron of the arts, the late Barbara Brennan Highland, is indeed a reflection of her fine character, personality, and love for her community.

Tickets for ON YOUR FEET! start at only $55 and went on sale to Friends of the Robinson Grand and members of the Cultural Foundation of Harrison County on Tuesday. They will be available to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.therobinsongrand.com or by calling the Robinson Grand ticketing center at (855) 773-6283.
