Hooks & Needles Working on Fleece Blankets for WV Veterans Nursing Facility

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 16, 2022

Hooks & Needles is the Bridgeport City Library’s weekly craft group usually meets weekly to work on individual projects.

However, the group recently began working on fleece blankets that will be given to veterans at the WV Veterans Nursing Facility who may not have family to visit them.

The group has finished three blankets but has several more to go.

Anyone may join the group which meets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday in the conference room at the library.

Hooks & Needles will be working on the blankets until all kits are complete, and then will return to regular meetings.

No experience is needed to make the fleece blankets. All participants need is a pair of fabric scissors. The group would love to add new members.

For more information, contact the library at 304-842-8248.

Editor's Note: Photo of Hooks & Needles working on a fleece blanket courtesy of the Library.

More photos of Hooks & Needles working on the blankets available in a gallery below.
