Meadowbrook Mall to Deliver Cheer to those in Need

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on November 23, 2022

This year, Meadowbrook Mall is delivering cheer, not just to shoppers, but also to members of the community who might be struggling this holiday season.

“We have always made an effort to give back whenever possible. For that reason, this holiday season we will be partnering with several charitable causes throughout the mall to deliver cheer to those who need it most.” said Joseph Thomas, Meadowbrook Mall’s Marketing Director.

Next to the Customer Service Center, visitors will find the Angel Tree. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year. Once a child or senior adult has been registered and accepted as an Angel their Christmas wish list is shared with donors in the community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys.

In the middle of Center Court, visitors will find the United Way gift wrap booth. Volunteers will wrap Christmas presents in exchange for a donation to the United Way. Each year the United Way raises thousands of dollars from donations at the booth to benefit over a dozen organizations in our area.  This service will be available starting on November 25th.

Meadowbrook Mall will also host a Holiday Food Drive. Starting on November 22, the mall and UniCare Health Plan will partner in a food/supply drive benefiting the Clarksburg Mission. The Clarksburg Mission provides supplies to Mustard Seed, Progressive Women’s Association, and Friends Feeding Friends. This Food Drive kicks off at 1pm on Tuesday, with a $250 supply donation from UniCare.  Food and hygiene supplies may be dropped off at the Customer Service Center in the mall.  At this time, the mall is requesting no clothing donations.

In addition to these specific fundraisers, Meadowbrook Mall also features a Community Booth, which is available all year long. It has been fully booked on weekends through December for use by area nonprofits.  It is located next to Marshalls. Thomas said “We are honored to do our part in making this holiday a special one, especially for the less fortunate. The Community Booth at the mall is a great opportunity for exposure that is completely free year-round. If you, or someone you know, represents a nonprofit we encourage you to reach out.”

The Meadowbrook Mall Complex is located on Interstate 79, Exit 121, in Bridgeport, West Virginia.  It has been serving the people of the Bridgeport/Clarksburg area since 1982.  To learn more, visit www.meadowbrookmall.com.  Meadowbrook Mall is owned and managed in association with Cafaro-affiliated companies, based in Niles, Ohio.  One of the nation’s largest privately held shopping center developers, the Cafaro organization has developed more than 30 million square feet of commercial real estate in 14 states.    For more information on the Cafaro organization, log onto www.cafarocompany.com.
