Frankie's Furry Friends: Meet Featured Pet "Dusty" and Plan to Attend our Brand New Elimination Dinner Fundraiser

By Frankie Michelle Dennison on April 24, 2019 from Frankie's Furry Friends

The Humane Society of Harrison County is excited to host our first elimination dinner fundraiser. Our event will be held Saturday, May 18 at Sunny Croft Country Club (Route 19, Clarksburg). Social time begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. A cash bar will be provided. Cost is $25 per person for the buffet-style dinner and the chance to win a $1,000 cash prize donated by Harry Green Chevrolet Nissan.

Every year our expenses increase, and it takes more events to come up with funding. We also love different types of fundraisers to make sure there is always at least one event someone would like to join in, all the while helping us to raise money. We are hoping this dinner draws a big crowd and becomes an annual event. And we are so appreciative of Harry Green Chevrolet Nissan for sponsoring our grand prize.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 304-592-1600 or visiting www.hshcwv.org. You do not have to be present to win the cash prize.

Also, meet today’s featured pet, Dusty! He is a gentle, 4-year-old Pyrenees mix with the biggest heart. When he first came to us he was a little dirty and had some swollen leg joints, but he's come a long way. Our veterinarian has him on allergy medicine and anti-inflammatories to minimize the discomfort while he heals. Since he's feeling better, Dusty loves to take walks and explore the yard, but he mostly wants to be by your side. Longing looks from his kind eyes say, "Let me love you" in the most touching way, and we can tell he's just waiting to devote himself to a like-minded human. He doesn't always get along with other dogs, but that's because he is much more interested in YOU! Come meet him today and win his heart by giving him a belly rub.

Dusty is neutered, fully dewormed and up to date on all vaccines. He may require ongoing care for his swollen joints. Dusty can be your lifelong companion for just $95.

Humane Society of Harrison County is located at 2450 Saltwell Road in Shinnston. The facility is open 10:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. seven days per week. HSHC can be contacted at 304-592-1600.
