Time Travel: A Trio of Bridgeport Legends at the Blue Lot and Visiting Skyline Drive-In During Late 1960s

This photo, courtesy of Jerry Burgess, shows a trio of Bridgeport legends enjoying one another's company at the Blue Lot for a WVU football event decades ago. Shown, from left, is the late Bob Cropp, the late BHS basketball coach Bill Kerns, and Jerry Burgess. The three can all trace the roots of their friendship back to their time as students at West Virginia University.
Remember the Skyline Drive-In on U.S. Route 19 heading toward southern Harrison County? This photo is likely from 1967, which is the year the movie Bonnie and Clyde was released. The drive-in opened in 1948 and closed in 1985. With the recent fire and closing of the Sunset near Shinnston, there are no longer any drive-in theaters in Harrison County.
