Alderson Broaddus University Institutes Requirement for Indoor Masking at Campus Athletic Events

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 13, 2021

In accordance with Alderson Broaddus University policy and local regulations, AB Athletics has instituted a mask requirement for indoor athletic events. The University's temporary mask requirement has been extended through at least September 24, 2021. Masks are not required for outdoor sporting events, but are strongly encouraged at this time.

Key Guidelines to follow in Rex Pyles Arena:
  • Wear face coverings when inside the facility
  • When seating arrangements and space permits, guests are encouraged to distance themselves from other parties as much as practicable
  • Stay Home if Feeling Sick. Guests should not attend if they have a fever. cough, shortness of breath, new loss/change in taste or smell, or have recently tested positive for COVID-19.
  • An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is a contagious disease that can lead to severe illness, with individuals over 65 years of age and with underlying medical conditions being especially vulnerable. By attending an athletic event on the campus of Alderson Broaddus, the individual assumes all risks related to COVID-19.
