Bridgeport-Based Dental Company Provides Nearly 700 Pounds of Candy for Troops Serving Overseas

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on November 21, 2019

On November 15, the West Virginia based dental offices of Wilson Martino Dental, TLC Dental, The Smile Defenders and iSmile Specialists proudly delivered 696 Pounds of Candy to the 1-201st HHB FA Unit, housed at the New Fairmont Armory in Marion County, WV.

The candy, donated by children across North Central WV through the dental office’s 2019 Trick or Treat for Our Troops Candy Buy Back program, is heading to local WV Armed Forces who are deployed overseas and on support missions throughout North America during this holiday season. The holiday gift boxes will be assembled and shipped by the volunteers and members of the 1-201st Soldier and Family Readiness Group (SFRG).

Assisting with the delivery, donation and distribution of the candy were Armory Team Members: CPT James Wikle and Carrie Parrack, 1-201st HHB FA SFRG President, our Dental Facilities Director, Todd Thompson and our Director of Marketing, Wendy Boyce.

The participating dental offices, along with the 1-201st team members, acknowledge and thank each child who participated in the 2019 Candy Buy Back, your generosity, along with the handcrafted cards you made, will go a long way to lift the spirits of those West Virginians deployed during the upcoming Holidays.
