City Manager Pat Ford Lauds Bridgeport's Parks and Recreation Staff for Ongoing Snow Removal Work

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 09, 2025

As the winter weather refuses to let up, Bridgeport City Manager Patrick Ford insists that staff responsible for keeping roads and sidewalks clear have not let up as well.

Recently, Ford piled praise on members on the Bridgeport Public Works Department for hours of work and extra shifts earlier this week to keep the city's roadways in good condition despite the onslaught of preciptiation and unrelenting cold weathers continually below freezing. He also was on hand as praised was handed out to the staff of The Bridge for getting their facility's massive parking lots cleared to allow for a Tuesday opening.

While continuing to thank those workers, he also added the Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Departmentto the list. In a recent social media post from the city sharing Ford's thoughts, he praised them for being out all day and continuing to work until snow is removed from sidewalks throughout the city.

"The snow is heavy and deep... so this has not been an easy task," the post said.

Ford asked that motorists and others passing by to be mindful of their presence as they contineu to work to keep the roadways and sidewalks clears as more snow came down yesterday and even more snow is anticipated this weekend.
