DHHR Reports 250 New COVID Cases; Harrison County's Active Cases at 29; State Deaths at 7,808

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting as of this morning (Tuesday, Jan. 24) the total number of  COVID-19 cases has increased to 632,661  with an increase of 250 new cases since the last update.
 
Tuesday's report shows the percentage of positive cases vs. tests given is 8.61 percent. The daily percent positive is at 8.39.
 
According to the DHHR website, Harrison County's numbers are at 25,700 (17,000 confirmed and 8,700 probable). Harrison County's active cases are at 29. There have been 25,384 recoveries and 287 deaths.
 
Please note that delays may be experienced with the reporting of information from the local health department to DHHR. As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the staate border to be tested. 
 
The state's cumulative number of COVID-releated deaths is at 7,808. There have been no deaths since the last report.
 
The state's number of active cases is at 787 and there have been 624,066 recoveries.
 
Hospitalizations as of Jan. 20 are at 257 with 36 patients in ICUs and nine on ventilators.
