DHHR Reports Increase of 21 Cases of COVID-19; Harrison County, State Death Numbers Remain Same

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting as of this afternoon (Monday June 29) at 5 p.m., the total number of COVID-19 cases has increased from 2,849 to 2,870; an increase of 21.
 
Monday afternoon's report is showing that the total number of tests given is 169,556 and the percentage of positive cases vs. tests given is at 1.69 percent. The daily percent positive is at 1.17 percent (daily tests/confirmatory test results).
 
According to the DHHR website, Harrison County's numbers are at 60 confirmed cases, 0 probable case, 22 active cases, one death and 37 recoveries.
 
As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the state border to be tested.  
 
Also, the DHHR is reporting the number of statewide deaths is still at 93.
 
The number of recoveries from the virus is at 2,196 with active cases at 581.
