Former BHS Teacher Pleads Guilty to Charges She had Sexual Relationship with 17-Year-Old Student

According to WDTV, a former Bridgeport High School art teacher admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student in court today, Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Courtney Rankin pleaded guilty to one count of sexual intercourse, sexual intrusion or sexual contact against a student by a school employee, according to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
Rankin faces one to five years in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life. Also, as part of the plea, she will lose her license to teach, officials said.
She is currently out on bond pending her sentencing and cannot have any contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18, officials said.
