Harrison County School System Lists 14 New COVID Cases; Majority of those Included are Students

FROM HARRISON COUNTY SCHOOLS
 
On Monday, May 3, 2021, working with the Harrison-Clarksburg Health Department, Harrison County Schools has confirmed the following COVID-19 cases:
 
• One student at West Milford Elementary School.
• Two students at Robert C. Byrd High School.
• Three students at Lincoln High School.
• One staff member at Lincoln High School.
• Two students at Bridgeport Middle School.
• One student at WI Middle School.
• One student at Big Elm Elementary School.
• Two staff members in the Transportation Department.
• One student at Simpson Elementary School.
 
A continued epidemiological investigation and contact tracing will be conducted.
 
In accordance with privacy laws, information specific to these cases will not be released publicly. However, details are being made available to keep the community informed of the transmission of COVID-19 locally.
 
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, everyone is urged to follow best health practices as issued by the Governor’s Executive Orders and outlined by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) and the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) guidance. This includes wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing, hand washing, and cleaning protocols regularly.
