Law Enforcement Announce Arrest Made and Charges Filed after Woman's Body Found in Area Friday

FROM THE WEST VIRGINIA STATE POLICE
 
UPDATE: On Friday, March 21, 2025, Troopers of the Sutton Detachment developed information that led to the arrest of Christopher L. Lacey (59-year-old male from Burnsville, WV).  Mr. Lacey was charged with Concealment of a Human Body and Failure to Render Aid in connection with the death of Belinda Riffle.  
 
This investigation remains ongoing at this time. 
 
ORIGINAL: The West Virginia State Police is requesting assistance from the public after a woman was found dead Monday, March 17, in Braxton County. Law enforcement believe foul play is involved.
 
A press release from West Virginia State Police says that 36-year-old Belinda Dawn Riffle's body was found in a rural area. The area in question was Vernon Road.
 
No additional details, other than the photos shown here, have been provided.
 
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have information, or believes they may know something in relation to the woman's death is asked to contact the West Virginia State Police Sutton Detachment. They can be reached
