Leaf Peeper's Festival Canceled Due to COVID-19

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 13, 2021

Another area festival has been canceled. Although not in the immediate area, it is in Davis in Tucker County and draws many locals as well as visitors from out of state. The annual Leaf Peeper's Festival has been scratched, according to a post on their Facebook page.

Below is the post.

"The Alpine Festival Board has decided to CANCEL the 2021 Leaf Peepers Festival.  After much deliberation among the board and a long discussion with the county Health Department, we feel this is the safest decision.  Our county is currently surging in Covid-19 cases and our surrounding hospitals are overwhelmed.

"We were hoping to hold the festival but with the most recent rise in cases we want to do what is best for everyone.  Thank you and let's hope for next year!  Save the date, Sept. 23-25, 2022."
