Medical Transport to United Hospital Center Needed after Vehicle Slams into Utility Pole in Clarksburg

A July 4 accident in downtown Clarksburg resulted in one person being taken to United Hospital Center, officials confirmed.
The accident took place on West Pike Street in the Adamston section of the city. The accident took place in the evening and temporarily knocked out some power in the area.
Due to the incident, the vehicle, which was heavily damaged due to the impact with the pole, the vehicle caught on fire. The utility pole was heavily damaged but did not fall. However, it did lead to traffic delays due to the fire and other issues related to the traffic.
WDTV reported that a passerby pulled the driver from the vehicle. The report said the driver was a man.
Officials were unable to provide any additional information. The Harrison County 911 Media log showed that the Clarksburg Fire and Police Departments were on the scene along with the Anmoore Volunteer Fire Department. The Harrison County Emergency Squad also was on the scene.
