Over Four Years after Closing During COVID, Eatery in Clarksburg is Once Again Open for Business

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 10, 2025

WDTV reported that in 2020, many service industry establishments had to close during COVID and a lack of consistent business. Unfortunately, Little Sandy’s in Clarksburg was one of those businesses, and it left a big hole in the local community.

After hearing many people in the area cry out for more mom-and-pop-styled restaurants, the once well-known staple has opened its doors once again.

According to General Manager Tommie Ecton, 2025 was the perfect time for a comeback.

“Little Sandy’s has actually been around about forty years,” Ecton said. “We provide family comfort food, and our menu is offered from open to close. I told people during orientation and even when I was interviewing, if you come in here at 6:15 [a.m.] and you want Chicken Parm, you’re getting Chicken Parm at 6:15 in the morning.”

The food was certainly missed with the absence of Little Sandy’s, but it’s the connections with their customers that had people heavily anticipating their return.

“You get that feel, you get that connection that I don’t feel you really get with a corporate restaurant. We may not be a corporate, but we feel like we’re big enough and strong enough that if you come to us or up the road to Bruceton Mills; or right over the Maryland line if you happen to be traveling into Maryland. We have a little one in Accident, Maryland; but wherever you go to one Little Sandy’s, from here to there, what you get here is what you’re going to get there as well,” Ecton said.

Editor's Note: Cover photo is a screen shot from the WDTV report. Little Sandy's is located at 106 Wilsonburg Road, Clarksburg, right off Route 50 West. The phone number is 304-566-7565. The restaurant has a 40-year history.
